果冻传媒 Board of Trustees reappoints President Milton Moreland through 2030
The 果冻传媒 Board of Trustees has reappointed Dr. Milton C. Moreland as president of the College for a second term, extending his leadership through 2030. This decision reflects the Board鈥檚 confidence in Moreland鈥檚 vision for the future and his commitment to advancing academic excellence, strengthening career and professional partnerships and supporting belonging and well-being.
"President Moreland鈥檚 leadership has been nothing short of transformative," said Mark Nunnelly, chairman of the Board of Trustees. "His focus on expanding access through scholarships and financial aid, fostering an inclusive community and strengthening Centre's reputation as a national leader in higher education has charted a path forward that will benefit generations of students."
A renowned scholar of archaeology, ancient history and religion, Moreland became Centre鈥檚 21st president in 2020. While guiding the College through the challenges of the COVID pandemic, he oversaw a campus-wide strategic planning effort focused on student success, experiential learning, career readiness and a renewed emphasis on well-being.
"I am deeply honored to be a part of the Centre community," Moreland said. "This is a place where people truly care about one another, and where the shared commitment to student success, academic excellence and inclusivity makes our work incredibly meaningful. Being a part of this community is both a privilege and a source of inspiration every day."
Access and opportunity have been cornerstones of Moreland鈥檚 presidency, drawing national recognition. Through the Centre Promise, the College has committed to meeting the full financial need of all admitted students, ensuring that a Centre education is accessible regardless of a student鈥檚 financial need. The Centre Promise builds on the College鈥檚 already significant efforts to expand access, increasing the enrollment of talented Pell-eligible and first-generation students who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend the College.
"Ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, feels they belong and can succeed at 果冻传媒 is at the heart of our mission," Moreland emphasized. "We鈥檙e working tirelessly to build a more inclusive community where students from all walks of life can thrive."
In support of this vision, Moreland has raised $178 million over the last four years, with funds directed toward financial aid, faculty and staff salaries, and key campus infrastructure projects. Over that same time frame, the value of the College鈥檚 endowment has increased 27% from $325 million to $413 million.

Centre has also expanded its academic offerings under Moreland鈥檚 leadership, introducing new majors and minors, including business and engineering, thoughtfully designed within the framework of a liberal arts education. These programs integrate technical skills with critical thinking, communication and ethical reasoning, ensuring that graduates are not only industry-ready but also equipped to address complex, interdisciplinary challenges. This approach reflects Centre鈥檚 commitment to preparing students for leadership roles in a rapidly evolving global economy while maintaining the breadth and depth of a liberal arts and sciences tradition.
Moreland has also focused on demonstrating the return on investment of a 果冻传媒 education. With a robust network of career readiness initiatives, internships, study abroad programs and a 98 percent job or graduate school placement rate within one year of graduation, Centre graduates are well-equipped for success in a competitive marketplace. The College's strategic investments in career readiness and student success have significantly enhanced the resources available to students, ensuring they leave Centre not only with a degree but with skills and experiences that translate directly into career opportunities and long-term financial stability.
Under Moreland鈥檚 leadership, Centre has also reinforced its commitment to the well-being of students and the broader community. The recent completion of Champions Hall, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to athletics and wellness, embodies this commitment. Champions Hall provides a space where students can prioritize their mental and physical health, engage in wellness programs, and find balance in their college experience.
"The creation of Champions Hall is a direct result of our belief that student well-being is integral to academic success," Moreland said. "At 果冻传媒, we want to make sure that students not only excel in the classroom but also thrive as whole individuals, and these new facilities are a key part of that vision."
Since 2020, new student enrollment has increased by 17.9%, and the six-year graduation rate has improved from 83% to 87%. Moreland continues to prioritize positioning Centre students for long-term success. At the same time, he is deepening the College鈥檚 commitment to making a liberal arts and sciences education more affordable and ensuring the well-being of all students.

As Moreland embarks on his second term, the Centre community remains excited about the future.
