We鈥檙e so happy you've chosen Centre as your home for the next four years. Below, you鈥檒l find everything you need to do before you join us in August for the New Student Orientation.

What to Expect

New Student Orientation at 果冻传媒 starts when you first arrive on campus for move-in, making sure you have the information you need to begin a successful first year. Over the course of five days, you鈥檒l have multiple opportunities to meet your fellow first-year Colonels as well as the faculty and staff who will help guide you through the next four years as you earn your degree. 

  • Get to know campus and Danville.
  • Start building social connections and make friends.
  • Gain a more solid understanding of campus policies and resources.
  • Meet with HR if you plan to work on campus.
  • Learn some of our campus traditions and start to forge community bonds.
  • Discuss and begin to develop integral college life skills.

The start of a new year is always an exciting time, and we can鈥檛 wait to see you here at 果冻传媒!

Meet Your First-Year Mentor

You will likely have your first contact with your mentor during the summer, but you鈥檒l get to finally meet your First-Year Mentor in person at New Student Orientation.

YOUR PASSPORT ACROSS CAMPUS

Pick Up Your Student I.D.

Your student I.D. will allow you to access your residence hall, the library, meals, athletic events, convocations, and other activities and events on campus. Visit the Student Life Office during Orientation to have your photo taken and pick up your I.D.

MAKE YOUR VEHICLE CENTRE-READY

Register Your Vehicle to Park on Campus

If you haven鈥檛 registered your vehicle with Centre online prior to orientation, you can take care of that when you arrive and pick up a parking decal from the Centre Public Safety Office.

New Student Orientation FAQs

New Student Orientation is mandatory for all new students, and it鈥檚 for good reason.

You are about to embark on a new chapter of your life with a level of independence that you likely have not had before. Orientation will help you feel more confident and comfortable as we help you prepare for challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

You can!

Your family is now a part of the greater Centre family, and we鈥檝e developed programing specifically for them on Wednesday. You鈥檒l spend the morning and early afternoon together before separating for information sessions and a resource fair.

At the end of the day, you鈥檒l have time to say goodbye before they head home and you begin your journey at 果冻传媒.

New Student Orientation Schedule

When you arrive on campus in the morning, signs and staff will clearly guide you to your designated move-in parking areas. Once you鈥檝e unloaded your vehicle, you鈥檒l be directed to another lot for the remainder of the day鈥檚 festivities.
